|Changing Play: Experimental Game Mechanics Workshop|
What lays beyond RPS and dice in cups when it comes to simulating things that would be foolish or uninteresting to play out live in excruciating detail? How do you simulate sex, drugs, rock and roll, and violence in a LARP? How about car chases? Or commanding a battlefield?
A number of examples will be provided from experimental LARPs, MicroLARPs, and realspace games that aren't quite LARPs in order to stimulate thought and appetite--and then the fun begins. We'll break out into teams and create our own experimental game mechanics to share with the group. Materials and prompts provided.
